To meet the demand for places,
the Executive Committee has, over the past six years, raised more than
£100,000 with the help of the local community to build an extension to the
existing premises. The development will not only enable us to offer more
vulnerable people a service, but also to improve our existing facilities by
having more space, including a much needed quiet room and better facilities
for users, volunteers and staff. Our running costs are approx. £150,000
per year.
The Day Centre receives funding from
Lincolnshire County Council via a Partnership Agreement which accounts for some
70% of our
overheads. The rest of our funding is raised from donations, fund raising by the committee
and staff and a small fee charged to the users of the Centre.
A large percentage of our funds are raised by
the Committee at the Day Centre, where we hold a Christmas and Spring
Fayre, bric-a-brac, shop sales, a 100 club plus monthly coffee
mornings. Please visit our events page for
our full events listing. In addition local organisations and
individuals support us on an annual basis.
And.... Many individuals who support us with
coffee mornings.

The Day Centre, as with all Charity Organisations,
depend on donations from the public to maintain buildings, buy food,
pay for transport, pay wages to essential staff and other overhead
expenses. there are many ways in which you could consider helping us:
Donations of Bric-a-Brac
are always needed for our Bric-aBrac table and charity stalls.
Join our 100 Club which
is run by the Skegness Centre. This way you have a chance of winning
small prizes each month. Each membership to the 100 Club costs £1.00
per month. The Christmas draw is well worth winning ........... why
not start a 100 club in your area?
Save your loose change for a
month. Its surprising how much money you have lying around in
our pockets after shopping, or an evening out. You could sort out 1p,
2p, 5p, 10p, and 20p pieces and put them aside for Centre. How much
could you donate using this method?
Hold a Boot or Garage sale on
behalf of the Centre. Garages and attics are the usual place we
keep items which we have replaced or have no further use of. Why not
hold a garage sale to get rid of those bits and pieces. Remember that
one persons cast off is another persons treasure. Send some or all of
the proceeds to the Centre.
Host a Coffee Morning from
Home. This is a very effective way of collecting for the Day
Centre. Invite your friends around for coffee. ask them all to donate
just 50p, or £1.00 to the Centre in exchange for coffee and biscuits.
Send the donations to the Centre.
Host a Coffee Morning from the
Centre. Again a very effective way of raising funds for the
Centre. Sell 50 or 100 tickets and host a coffee morning at the Day
Centre for your organisation. We provide the tickets, coffee and the
biscuits. All you have to do is arrange the ticket sales. What a
brilliant of meeting all your members and friends together for a chat!
Give some time to the Day
Centre. Spring Fayres, Christmas Fayres, Welly Paddles,
Raffles, Coffee Mornings, Jumble Sales, Boot Sales, and Garage Sales
are great ways of raising money for the Centre. We also need
VOLUNTEERS.
Friends of the Day Centre. By becoming
a "Friend of the Day Centre" you can help in many ways. Why not
enquire at the Day Centre about BECOMING A FRIEND.
We urgently need
representatives from all areas including Wainfleet, Burgh Le Marsh, Irby In the Marsh,
Friskney, Wrangle, Chapel St. Leonards, Ingoldmells, Winthorpe, Spilsby & District,
Orby and Langton, who may wish to assist in both fundraising or simply local
support.
