Skegness
Day Centre provides day care for an average of 45 people per day -
thus giving the carer a chance of a days respite. Collected by
our own ambulance, Day Centre Visitors are welcomed with a cup of tea
or coffee plus a 3 course meal, which is prepared in our own kitchen.
During their time at the Centre visitors are welcome to participate in
a number of group activities, including crafts, dominoes, scrabble, a
short session of Bingo and a chance to change their library books.
Other activities include extend exercise classes to music. The
Centre also offers support for a variety of difficulties, and a social
outlet to those who may be house bound. There is even an on-site
hairdresser for those seeking a little pampering.
In 2003 we introduced the
Coast and Country Bus Club, a unique service
providing transport and regular scheduled outings for disabled
persons. The outings not only provide welcoming changes of scenery and
company to house-bound or disabled persons, but also provide a relief
to carers while we hope to provide an entertaining event for those
with care needs.
This
service is also available to disabled holiday visitors to Skegness.
As part of our fund-raising,
we are actively involved in organising many local
exciting events, that provide great entertainment to holiday
visitors and locals alike - why not check out our
events and add to your seasonal diary? |
